SST Round 3 - Townsville - Bit of an Up and Down Weekend

W

e are home safe and sound from Townsville after a big weekend of racing.

Friday

We started off well  being quite competitive in the first practice session.

Practice Session Results

We went out in to qualifying with some confidence… but maybe a little too much.. we followed Shaun Richardson out and we knew he was very quick in the first practice session so we followed him pretty closely, down into turn 11 we braked at the same braking marker as him and thought this wasn’t to bad so the next lap we tried for a little extra and then it was just to far and we out braked ourselves and I was not able to pull it up. Thank you to everyone who messaged us and asked if I was ok and safe after the roll really appreciate it.

Saturday

Saturday morning we got out in the spare Stadium super truck as my truck was unrepairable over night and we took it fairly reserved finishing P8.

The Second race we got a little more confidence back but was not as happy with the set up as we were were our last car and it was hurting me on the landing of jumps but none the less we actually ended up finishing P5 in Race 2.

Day 2 First Session Results

Race 3 on Sunday

We made some changes on the truck with the suspension to try and stop it from hurting on landing but unfortunately it didn’t work to much , but we came home in p7.
